DATE: Sunday, October 15, 2023

TIME: 9:15 AM; meet in the parking area and check-in; opening ceremony begins at 10:00 AM

Once again, we will be entering a team in the 9/11 Memorial Stairclimb honoring all those who lost their lives responding to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, and all those who lost their lives from exposure to toxins in the recovery effort.  Our team will be honoring Capt. Harry Thompson, Sgt. Mitch Wallace, Sgt. Tommy Jurgens, Lt. Teddy Leoutsakos, and all court personnel who lost their lives due to their work on the recovery effort.

THE 110-STORY CHALLENGE

Our members will attempt to climb 110 stories.  Please remember that this is not a race; each team member can go at their own pace.  In 2022, each of our team members completed the climb.  Water is provided along the way, and E.M.T.s are on staff if needed. There is a brief opening ceremony, and the F.O.C.O. team will be treated to a post-climb reception with food and beverages.

COST PER MEMBER

We are asking our team members to pay $20 in advance and commit to attending and helping us offset our cost of $60 per climber. All funds raised go to the National Firefighters Foundation.  Please do not sign up if you will not attend.

JOIN THE F.O.C.O. STAIR CLIMB TEAM – SPACE IS LIMITED TO THE FIRST 20 TO MAKE THE COMMITMENT

You can join our team by mailing a check to F.O.C.O. PO Box 286 Mineola, NY, and emailing  with your name, command, shirt size, and cell phone contact #. Please respond ASAP to reserve your spot on our team.

IN CLOSING

Our past teams have found this a well-organized, professionally run event.  It is an excellent day to bond with other agencies with the shared goal of honoring all those who lost their lives in the most successful rescue effort in American history.
